My name is Hodge Peng.  Thanks for visiting MandarinNYC!  Thisis my first website, and I hope it would become a platform for meeting new friends.  The ultimate goal of MandarinNYC is to make more people interested in Mandarin and to help native English speakers with learning the language.

A little bit about myself.  I was born and raised in Shanghai, China.  Under the influence of my grandfather, who went to an American University in Shanghai, I started to become interested in the western culture.  After high school, I decided to come to the US and receive college education.  Currently I'm pursuing a MBA degree in New York.

From my own experience of learning English and tutoring (both Mandarin and English), I find some common mistakes that people often make in learning a new language.  The biggest difficulty, however, is always the environment.

I want to share with you these experiences, and I wish all of you a great success in mastering Mandarin.
